Special education with ...Twitter !

To be honest with you my friends I didn't like Twitter , I thought it was a silly social media . I thought it wont help me  in special education  .
When my friend  explained Twitter to us in  the course : "Technologies  and special education", I realized that it could be very helpful in communication skills for children who have troubles with communication. What she said was so true , she tried to involve her student in twitter by making them take pictures , upload them on twitter and  edit their captions .
For example if her student wants to eat , he should upload his sandwich's picture and edit the caption by saying : "TIME TO EAT". Or a picture that says what they want to do .
I didn't use it yet , but when i will do it , I will tell you my own experience .

Don't forget to follow me on twitter :

Special education with ..Mindmeister !

MindMeister is by far the most simplistic mind mapping tool in the top five, but its simplicity is definitely an asset. Once you're logged into the service, you can create a fully functional mind map using little more than the directional arrows and the Insert key to add new nodes to your map. Additional customizations like font size and node colors are available for when you want to go beyond the basics. In the upper right corner is a navigation window, handy for when your mind maps become larger than the display space. Exporting is also a strong point for MindMeister; you can export your files to a text outline, PDF, JPG, PNG, or GIF .

I use mind meister to help my student in difficult lessons !
She needs to see clearly the  map for every lesson !
So its so easy for me when we finish every lesson we do the map on mind meister .
If you want to learn more about how we do a mind map on mind meister ...

Special education with... VOKI !

Voki is a website that helps you to make characters that can talk , they can help children with special needs to learn how to speak , how to pronounce all kind of words and all kind of letters .
Voki can be used specially with autism with dyslexia and with any other language and communication trouble !
When I first met voki , I thought it was nothing that important but when I  used it with my student who has autism in a low degree , she created a character she named it her name , she changed all the settings and she started to write what she needs to say in the message box . When she heard the first time the character talking she was very impressed , and she wanted to use it all the time , to express herself , I FELT I DID SOMETHING OF A BIG IMPORTANCE .
VOKI helped me to break the wall between me and my student .. she can now say what she feels without any hesitation through VOKI .

Introduction

Hello ,

Welcome to my blog page  , I hope you enjoy your visit here .

I created my Blog page to support education for children with special needs . They have the right to live , they have the right to learn , they have the right to be supported .To teach them you have to love them first , to respect them at second and to protect their privacy at last . If a child can learn the way you teach , teach them the way they learn !So in my blog page I will show how to teach a children with special needs in so many different ways .

When I decided to continue my education at Lebanese university in education for special needs  , I had to deal with a technology course that introduces new websites  that helps us to teach in different ways !

So lets check some new ways .

                                                         Have fun !
